PROFILES OF RESOURCE TEAM
P.K. Kairu – Director of Studies, Kenya School of Credit Management.
Mr. Kairu is a long-standing Credit expert having graduated from Leeds University in United Kingdom in the field of Credit Management. He worked in various financial institutions at senior Credit Management levels before taking an early retirement to start the only school of its kind in Kenya – Kenya School of Credit Management – an institution that trains people in the latest practices in credit management.
Mr. Kairu introduced credit management as a profession in Kenya and wrote the first curriculum that has been used by the Kenya Accountants and Secretaries National Examinations Board (KASNEB) to examine students from the year 2001. He has written, Credit Management, the first local book in credit management that is a recommended study guide for KASNEB students and all stakeholders in the credit business.
Mr. Kairu is the Chairman of the Institute of Credit Management – Kenya, an associate of Gretsa University Senate, Director of Studies at the Kenya School of Credit Management and a lecturer of the core units in Credit Management.
Mr. B.M. Chege – Director of Training, Kenya School of Credit Management.
Mr. Chege is a widely experienced Credit Management Trainer in various fields including Project Finance, Credit Analysis, Financial Analysis and Interpretation, Corporate Lending, and Risk Management. He is a holder of a Bachelor of Arts (Economics) degree from the University of Nairobi. He has also attended various Credit Management training courses locally and abroad.
Mr. Chege has been actively involved in Credit Management training of financial institutions in Kenya and in the wider African region including Rwanda, Uganda, Lesotho, Southern Sudan, and Tanzania.

Mr. Chege is a Certified ILO Entrepreneurship Trainer and an Adjutant Faculty at Strathmore University Business School, Associate Consultant at Kenya Institute of Bankers, Federation of Kenya Employers, and Kenya Institute of Management amongst others. He has written The Lending Handbook which is an invaluable aid to all those in the lending business.
Alia Mohamed – Associate Trainer, Kenya School of Credit Management.
Alia Mohamed has been in Credit Management training for over 8 years specialiasing in Credit Assessment and Monitoring, Financial Analysis and Relationship Management. Her invaluable credit knowledge and skills were gained from over 20 years of working for local and international banks in Kenya.
She has been involved in training banks on Credit and Relationship Management in Kenya, Ethiopia & Zimbabwe.
Alia holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration and she is also an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (London)
Pius Kyambi – Associate Trainer, Kenya School of Credit Management.
Kyambi is a Credit Management professional with experience spanning over 15 years. He has all-round credit management exposure having held senior Credit Management positions in leading financial institutions and in the trade sector. He has facilitated various credit management trainings and seminars since 2015 and continues to promote ethical standards and service delivery in the professionalism.
Kyambi holds a Master of Science in Finance, and a Bachelor of Science (Statistics and Pure Mathematics). He is also a fully qualified Certified Credit Professional (CCP) and Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Kyambi is a member of both ICPAK and Institute of Credit Management (Kenya) – ICM(K).
